Save the Sound Beach Clean Up

When Sound On Sound “knocked us out of the park” last week due to privatizing a good chunk of the beach and selling the parking spaces all the way to the jetty for our long-planned Save the Sound clean-up at Seaside Park, we moved it to October 8th.

When we found out there was another Save the Sound cleanup scheduled by Carolina Ramos of the Lambda Theta Alpha Latin Sorority, we gladly joined forces as dual Cleanup Captains and had a great time collectively picking up thousands of pieces of trash equating to hundreds of pounds of plastic, styrofoam, cigarette butts, metal cans, glass bottles and other debris.

Thanks to Karl Heine for agreeing to be my Co-Captain in support, for taking photos and to our long-time neighbor Diane Vulcano who joined our breakout group. Thanks also to Andreina Barajas Novoa, Save the Sound Connecticut Clean-up Intern who attended and Annalisa Paltauf, Ecological Restoration Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator who helped organize the cleanup.
